The Finnish-American Folk Festival presents:

Naselle, Washington

The Finnish American Folk Festival of Naselle is pleased to introduce to our festival . . .

Suomettaret

A Finnish Ladies singing group, Suomettaret is led by Elisa Maattanen Boynton, violinist, teacher and member of the Livakat kantele group. The singers gather and perform in Portland as needed, especially since vocalist Christina Perala joined the group.

Our festival has welcomed choral groups from Portland since our beginnings in 1982, and for several festivals we have presented our own Ladies Choir with Lizzie Lindholm as accompanist. It is a real pleasure this July to welcome these women from Portland, Oregon, which has a very active Finnish-American community now.

We look forward to continued good relations with that big city upriver! Maybe our good will will echo eastward . . . with the help of Suomettaret.
