Folk Voice Duo

Birgit and Philip Ages make up the Folk Voice Duo from Seattle. They play folk music from all over the world, beginning with their native Germany and Holland and extending from the Nordic countries to the Balkans, from Russia to Spain and everywhere in between. They are happy to take their audience on a “trip around the world.”

With years of experience in Los Angeles and Seattle, Birgit and Philip accompany dancers, jam, and informally head up the Accordion Stage at Seattle’s Folk Life Festival, offering lively and engaging concerts. “We love performing,” they say, and it shows. Between the two, they play at least twelve instruments, giving varied and interesting performances.

They are also big supporters of Finnish artists and performers like Pekka Penttikainen and Perttu Paappanen. Birgit and Philip work hard (and play well) to spread the good will of world folk music to all.

For this festival they are joined by Chris Lugette on the guitar. We guess that is how a duo becomes a trio.
